Help Patients Take Their First Step Toward Recovery

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our detox team in Columbus, Ohio. As a Detox Nurse, you'll play a vital role in helping patients safely navigate withdrawal while providing compassionate care, clinical expertise, and encouragement during one of the most important stages of their recovery journey.

Available Schedule

  • Rotating schedule
  • 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Full-time - weekends included
Responsibilities

  • Monitor patients throughout the detoxification process and promptly recognize changes in condition.
  • Perform ongoing nursing assessments, including vital signs and withdrawal monitoring using established clinical protocols.
  • Administer prescribed medications safely and accurately, including medications used in withdrawal management.
  • Observe for signs of medical or psychiatric emergencies and communicate changes to the provider or RN immediately.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, medication administration, and progress in the electronic medical record.
  • Provide compassionate emotional support while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Educate patients on medications, the detox process, and the importance of continuing treatment after discharge.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, counselors, and behavioral health staff to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment while following all state, federal, and facility regulations.
Qualifications

  • Active Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Medication administration certification.
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in detox, addiction medicine, behavioral health, emergency medicine, and Medicaid experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced or high-acuity situations.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check and meet pre-employment health requirements.
